a. Financial Reporting ManagerHead Office: Dubai
Job Responsibilities:
To manage the JMH Group accounting and reporting, incorporating the Group's move from Hyperion into a new ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics AX) which is expected to be fully implemented over a 3 year period, but will be used for Group consolidated reporting in approximately 1 year's time
Prepare and modify the monthly management reports of the Group. Group reporting incorporates actual monthly reporting, monthly forecasts, annual budgets, business plans and 5-year strategic plans To prepare monthly/quarterly/annual submissions to HSBC, the Group's main bankers
Manage other standard reporting processes e.g. forecasts, budgets, business and strategic plans
Prepare the annual Group consolidated statutory accounts (currently consolidation is at 2 levels) and liaise accordingly with the Group external auditors
Conduct audits as required by the VP Audit, Risk & Treasury. The Group Financial Controller will manage the overall Group relationship with the external auditors
Provide financial support to the Groups central functions (e.g. Commercial, HSE, Supply Chain, IT, HR) when required
Job Requirements:
Professional qualification in accountancy (ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CPA)
Strong technical skills – particularly with regards to IFRS and Consolidation
Strong management information skills (MIS), and should have experience preparing financial and management accounts
Exposure to the current consolidation system (Hyperion)
Exposure to new ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics AX) will be an advantage
Experience of deploying an ERP system in a group of International companies

Dubai: To maintain a high standard of service, the UAE has set specific regulations for those who wish to work as nurses in the government or private sectors.
It is required that nurses continuously work on developing their nursing skills and knowledge on a regular basis. To protect people's health and safety, the Ministry of Health has stressed that all nurses or midwives must meet a minimum criteria to practice their occupation here.
Nurses can apply for a job at the Ministry of Health in Abu Dhabi or Dubai and if the application is accepted, the person may work at any of the seven emirates.

No foreign jobs for women below 25
Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama said the Government imposed a total ban on sending mothers of infants below five years as housemaids in foreign countries as it has resulted in discontented workers as well as social problems back home. Bogollagama said in the future only women who are above 25 years would be granted permission for overseas deployment.
He was addressing a press conference in the capital city Riyadh of oil rich Saudi Arabia where thousands of Sri Lankans are employed. `This is not only because of their discontented life here but it also creates social problems back home,` he said. He said homesickness has been identified as the main cause of labour problems of Sri Lankan housemaids working in Saudi Arabia. The minister added, `A housemaid who came here leaving a five-month-old baby ran away from her workplace because she desperately wanted to see her child.`

UAE : Employer cannot deduct visa fees from salary
Abu Dhabi: No employer is allowed to withhold any amount from an employee's salary or deduct visa fees or any other charges, according to a Labour Ministry official.
Obaid Rashid Al Zahmi, Assistant Undersecretary at the ministry, told Gulf News that visa charges should be paid only by the employer. "It's against the labour law to deduct money from the employee for any charges," he said.
The Labour Law, he said, states that no amount of money may be deducted from a worker's remuneration in respect of private claims except in recovery of advances paid to the worker in excess of his entitlements, contribution towards social security, insurance and welfare schemes, fines imposed for any offence and any debt payable in execution of a court ruling.

Halliburton plans to hire 13,000 workers amid move to Dubai
Dubai: Oil services firm Halliburton plans to hire more than 13,000 new workers this year in the US and elsewhere as it splits its headquarters between Houston and Dubai, an executive said in a memo obtained by the Associated Press.
Halliburton's announcement this week that its chief executive, Dave Lesar, would lead the company from a new headquarters in Dubai raised an outcry among some in the US.
Some Congressional Democrats raised fears the move would mean job cuts in the US and suspicions that Halliburton was trying to avoid paying US taxes. The firm says it will remain incorporated in Delaware and the move won't affect its tax burden.
In a memo to US employees on Tuesday, chief operating officer Andy Lane said Halliburton was girding for an expansion and hiring binge that would increase its workforce by nearly 30 per cent this year.
